Well, here we are, approaching one month of being in Ireland and I've already experienced so many things. The homesickness has definitely started to kick in, but luckily keeping busy and staying around friends keeps my mind off of home. As of right now, the thing I miss most about America (besides my friends and family) is absolutely the food. I mean that sounds so pathetic, but the food here is so strange, but I guess there are some sacrifices to be made. Anyway, this past week was pretty boring in terms of school, still getting used to classes and getting my schedule figured out so not much to report on that front. Friday I went to a shopping center in Dundrum with a few friends, it was a long week so retail therapy was much needed. On Saturday, we went and toured the Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin. It was a beautiful cemetery and had some amazing historical figures buried there. Also, there are more people in that cemetery than in all of Ireland to this day. That's a lot of dead people, just sayin'. The weather of course was torturous during the tour so that was not ideal. After the tour, we went to a pub right outside the cemetery called 'Grave Diggers' and ate a little snack before leaving. We then walked toward Croke Park where we got to go to a Gaelic Football match between Dublin and Kerry! That was exciting, although I have no idea what Gaelic Football is, it was really cool to see such an authentic Irish sport while we're here. Also, Dublin won so that was exciting too! Luckily, it didn't really rain during the game, but it was freezing. After the game, we walked back into the city centre and found a nice pub to go to and warm up. Today, I started trying to plan my spring break and decide where I will be traveling to. We're going to Belfast next weekend, so that is definitely something to look forward to!
Until next time,
